Interweave Bead Star Winner

I'm a winner!! The official Interweave press release has been sent out to tell everyone about the Bead Star winners and I'm one of them. Bead Star is a magazine printed annually containing pictures of and "how to" instructions for the winners of their beaded jewelry contest. I won 3rd place in the Crystals category and you can find my bracelet, Crystal Squared, on page 15 with instructions on page 66. I also donated my bracelet to be auctioned off for the benefit of the American Heart Asscociation's women's heart-health initiative. Online ebay Auction will take place on March 23-25. I’m a Proud Etsy.com Buyer (and Seller)

I love to shop, especially online. My favorite place to shop is Etsy.com. Etsy.com is a website that allows individual artists/crafters from around the world to sell their handmade creations in their own Etsy shop. I’m one of these people. I have a shop http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=28051, in which I sell my handmade beaded jewelry. But the reason I’m writing this blog is not to advertise my shop, but to expound on the many other wonderful shops I’ve made purchases from. I have actually purchased a total of 50 items from various Etsy shops and have only sold 10 items in my shop. I have purchased clothing and toys for my grandchildren, gifts, décor items for my home, and handmade and commercial beading supplies. You will not be able to find any items you purchase from Etsy shops in commercial stores; everything sold on Etsy is handmade and, most of the time, one-of-a-kind.
